HEY! It's been awhile since I updated this thing (this will probably be the first line on each of my journals) and so here's what I've been up to.
1.
HIGH VAULTAGE was released on MochiGames just over a week ago. If you haven't played it yet, where have you been? GO PLAY IT -> [link]
It's a game about a polevaulter who wants to reach the stars and the Olympic Games, sponsored by a TexMex Restaurant he goes blasting into the sky on taco-flavoured flatulence. There's Highscores and Unlockables and STUFF.
2.
POTATO KNIGHTS is a card game Jordi Boin and I are working on, it is currently ready to have a 4th version printed up, we still need some art on the cards, but already very playable. Still messing around with the rules a little, shuffling some abilities, trying to tighten it up just a bit more.
Also we've been testing expansions for it, ans they've been working really well. 'Feudal Japan' is a particular favorite, although 'Halloween Monsters' has been pretty good too. The Seer & Alchemist which we added to main deck have been playing well. Catapult still questionable though.
3.
WESTERADO is a pitch Jordi Boin and I came up with for school, of which we're still waiting to hear if we continue or not in school with it (if we don't it will continue outside of school). It's sorta a Cowboy Exploration Action Roguelike. You travel through the desert & hills, track down bandits, have a little personal vendita with somebody but get distracted by guns, women, treasure maps, honor, train heists, bank robberies, fist fights, drinking, et al.
jordi came up with a cool visual style for it, witha bloomed pixel effect to really give that hot, dirty, rough feeling of the Wild West. Here's a link to the pitch doc -> [link]
4.
The HKU POKEMON TCG TOURNAMENT was just finished (mostly) this past week. I organised the whole thing, it crossed 3 weeks or so. 16 players, only 1 winner. Molly beat out Alex in the finals, a great match to have seen, definitely worthy of a tournament Final. We (Roy and I) recorded it and streamed it (with a little help from Yhorik), Roy is still busy with encoding and editing and stuff, but should be online soon.
5.
COLLEGE, work, stuff, it's not really interesting me too much, although shaders in XNA look kinda fun maybe I should get more interested in it. Also DRUGS IN THE CITY is underway and we got a pretty decent idea, just a matter of really getting it together.
Oh and my laptops have been systematically causing problems. Main laptop said the Hard Drive was *about* to crash, switched to the 8 year-old laptop, which after a month of heavy, laggy usage just dropped dead one afternoon, no warning. Switched back to the other laptop, which still warns me, but mostly is just acting up, starting up sometimes messes up, inexplicably slow once windows finally does log me in. Just kinda weird. Anyways should get it fixed soon (maybe next week?).
Long journal is longer than I expected. Anyways gnight.
